Activities for Teens and Young Adults

FOCUS offers monthly activities in the community for teens and young adult with disabilities.

Best FOCUS Friends (BFF) Club, ages 13 to 29.  Activities include bowling; gathering for an art project; drumming or music therapy; and more.  Participants must:

Be safe & able to participate with supervision of 1 counselor to 4 participants
Stay with the group in a public place, with gentle reminders
Not need medical care that requires a nurse
Not need help toileting during a 2-hour period
(Caregivers welcome, but parents can come if absolutely necessary!)

 FOCUS Club Connect, ages 13 to 29, formerly known as the Teen & Young Adult Social Group.  Activities include eating out; pottery painting; sports (baseball, bowling, or rock climbing); gathering to watch a sports game or movie; and more!  Participants must:

Be safe & able to participate with supervision of 1 counselor to 8 participants
Stay with the group in a public place, without reminders
Not need medical care that requires a nurse
Not need help toileting during a 2-hour period
Not have behaviors that are disruptive or loud
Be able to communicate yes and no
(Caregivers welcome, but parents are discouraged from attending!!)

 The BFFs and Club Connect will have some activities together and some separate activities.  All activities will be announced by email and on the FOCUS website calendar.
